Left of centre might be the phrase that springs to mind after entering West End deli, West Perth’s favourite neighbourhood bistro. But don’t let that fool you. Situated in the heart of inner city suburbia yet just a skip away from the hustle and bustle of the CBD, West End deli is the perfect place for respite, equally ideal for businessmen on the go and for mums and their kids.

West end deli is run by Justin Peters and his wife Christine. Trained in Perth, Justin was the head chef of acclaimed restaurant Duende for two years and also set up Il Lido in Cottesloe and Verve in the City.

So what makes West End deli different from other venues in Perth?

“West End deli is all about building relationships through food and service. Our regular customers are the driving force behind what we do every day and they make all the hard work worthwhile” explains Justin.

Food at West End deli is driven by seasonal produce and everything is made in house. The service philosophy is simple; polished and professional service with a splash of personality thrown into the mix. West End deli’s piece de resistance is a beautiful antique wooden table, previously and integral part of the family’s home that has moved into the deli to showcase the vast range of newly baked cakes, pastries and chocolates available for sale. West End deli is rather like walking into your own larder where you can see your meal being prepared and even have a chat with the chef whilst waiting for a coffee.

West End deli is open seven days a week for breakfast and lunch with dinner served Thursday through Saturday. The booze is BYO and the atmosphere is lively during the day and intimate in the evening.
“Dinners for us are when we get to play dress-ups. Out comes the linen and the good cutlery and everything gets taken up a notch,” says Rebecca, the restaurant manager.
